Yuki Matsuura is a research fellow at the Instittute of Developing Economies, Japan External Trade Organization (IDE-JETRO).
My academic interests center around empirical studies of politics and political economy in developing countries and beyond. Specifically, my current projects deal with 1) how land endowment affect the trajectory of regional economic development, 2) whether human rights concerns shape domestic acts of authoritarian regimes, and 3) what issue dimensions are salient in international delibarations.
I apply quantitative methods, causal inference methodology and geospatial analysis to observed data.
I obtained my B.A. and M.A. from the University of Tokyo.
